Q: How long have you
owned a Cannondale?
I have had my Speed
since new in April of 2002.
Q: Would you
recommend Cannondale to your buddies?
I would recommend a
Cannondale to anyone that doesn't mind preventative maintenance
and spending a little time in the garage during the week before
a ride.
Q:. What type of riding do you do?
I started MX racing
in 2002 and pretty much gave up every other type of riding.
Nothing seemed to get the adrenaline going like doing laps,
hitting doubles, etc.
Q: What mods have you done to your bike?
My Speed looks
little like a Speed anymore. I have American Star +2/+1
a-arms, LSR Axcalibar adjustable axle, Pep zps front and
rear suspension, Douglas .190 wheels with reinforcement
rings front and rear, Moto/Speed merged mapping, HMF full
system, Denton rebuildable steering dampner, Arens updated
spec steering stem, Razr tires front and rear, Sidewinder
titanium sprockets/chain, red plastics, Moto headlight
deletes, AC nerfs....and I think that just about covers
it....lol
Q: What advice would you give someone just starting in the
Cannondale community?
For anyone
considering buying a Cannondale or a current owner, I would
recommend browsing the internet forums for information,
troubleshooting, parts, etc. Before I ever bought my Speed,
I browsed the Cannondale that I stumbled onto and found
quite a few owners helping each other out. Ryanstones'
ravings about how many hours he had on his helped me in my
buying decision as well....we all know what Ryan has been
through with his Dale recently....but those owners were
really getting help/giving help on issues and the
manufacturer was standing behind the quads like no other.
5. Give us a little history on yourself?
I was born and
raised in Chicago, IL. I am 35 years old and am a forklift
operator at Costco Wholesale; where I have been for 10 years
now. I started daytrading the stock market in 1999 and was
lucky enough to have a great trading tutor and great market
conditions that I doubt we will see again anytime soon.
I am married to my
wonderful, supportive best friend for 12 years now and we have 3
awesome kids; ages 11, 9 and 4. My son has recently tried his
hand at motorcycle MX and has a 2nd and 1st place finish in his
first 2 weekends.
6. Any sponsors/people you would like to thank?
I would like to
thank Kyle at R&S Performance, the guru in my eyes. He
helped me in more ways than I would ever expect from any
business owner...thanks to Suzie too..Kyle's right hand. I
have to thank Marty and Jeff at the Quadshop, no nicer guys
anywhere for a nobody racer in Anchorage, Alaska; I was
surprised that Marty agreed to sponsor me this season.
Jim and Scott at
Champion Motorsports in PA bailed me out and sponsored me as
well as I needed parts or just to discuss our quads in
general. Lastly, I would like to thank all the great owners
on this and other forums....you are the reason I still own
my Speed today......JIM
