it depends on which stem your useing if the tie-rods hit the frame. the new one is suppose to miss the frame, (the mount is 10 mm lower). Lube steering bushing..water from pressure washer washs lube out of it.

Motoracer, it's really alot of fun pulling the motor, but it's more fun puttin it back in. 1st time it took us 12 hours out and back in. High maintenace? let's see now ... we raced 250x in gnc's 2000, changed oil and greased, changed plug, cleaned air filter and reoiled, tightened chain and gave every handy bolt a twist with wrench after every weekend of racing. 2001..400/440ex all of the above with the addition of change head gasket...

mrP, do i know you, i'm wink's dad. and i remember jcv.... dude says to me ... " mind if i take it for a ride?" i said "sure go ahead" he did a very extensive test of the revlimiter across the parking lot and back.......... seemed to like it.

BTW.... oil filter is stainless steel mesh, clean real well with carb cleaner, blow dry with air hose. when installing DON'T put the filter in the hole. put the filter in the cap first, then into hole. this will keep you from crushing and trashing a $38 filter. P.S. buy extra gas!

we found a dab of silicon under the fastener head along with red locktite works real well for keeping the bolts in their holes.
