Alright, what's a set of valves and a piston run normally? Currently 97mm and I'm gonna guess stock valves. But basically the piston is done for? Wonderful.

I'm no guru but what makes the valves bad? Just the fact that they were rubbed on or what exactly keeps them from being usuable? Not complaining about advice, just curious. Same thing with the piston. That little bit of wear makes it unusable or still good to go? Should I be worried about the cy...

As mentioned in previous post: when I got it on the bench still together with side cover off, the thing was real hard to turn over when it got to TDC. When I took off cams and such and just redid the timing by instructions on this site to be sure, it became real easy and smooth to turn over. Felt li...

If anyone followed my previous topic, I have torn down a little more to investigate why the quad would not start. It appears that timing was obviously off a bit. Also take a look at the piston/rings and tell me if I'm missing something. Shouldn't there be 3 rings? There's only 2. One in ...

Thanks Boomer. Will probably hit you up on that. Want to figure out a few things first in case I need something else too.

Two questions remain though if anyone knows the answers:
1. Is the ring gap placement the same for a CP as it is for the stocker in manual or is it different?<br ...

I may sound like a Jackass but don't recall exactly. I remember researching it, then testing and seeing it was ok. It's been over a year now. Best I could find on searching here was over 60 to start, and under it'd be hard or not start. But didn't bring back any memory of what I got ...

I don't recall. I checked it last time I messed with it quite some time ago. I remember it being good but been too long to remember and don't have a tester now. Had borrowed that one.

Decomp seems to check out good from what I've found on it through searching. Was told it was just done, and see no signs of issues from reading through topics about it. One thing I didn't think about though is ring gap and position on the piston. I didn't think to check that. It had good...
