No, I did not notice the engine knocking I just happen to check the sight glass and could see something was wrong. I think I???ll go ahead and replace all the bottom end bearings and the scavenge pump rotors just for peace of mind.
Thanks for the responses.

Hello all, a few months ago after returning from a long ride in Glamis I noticed a lot of metal shavings in my inline oil magnet (big thanks to John for that nice sight glass). The quad was still running great but I decided to park it for the rest of the trip.
I finally found some time to pull ...

Hey guys, I recently had the coil go out on my Moto which as most of you know has the MC1000 ecu. Luckily I had a spare coil from my non running FX400 which has the MC500 ecu. I installed the FX400 coil in the Moto and the quad fired right up and seems to run fine. I just wanted to make sure that th...

Took a closer look and found this crack, just wanted to get some opinions on why this could have happened and the best way to go about fixing it. ...

This time i will make sure the torque wrench is calibrated before i reassemble the motor. Clearly I can???t reuse the old caps anyways. I do however have a spare fully assembled (fx400) head minus the port job, should I use the caps off the spare head on mine? or should I just have Tim port my spare...

I far as I know the caps have never been swiched. I may have over torqued them the first time I rebuilt the motor causing them to fail the first time. But when I rebuilt it this last time I sent my head to tim to be ported so I assume he checked the cam bores and they were fine. Gear end always pres...

The cam bearing chewed into the engine cover putting alot of shavings in the transmission and chipping the gear.
[attachment=12980:IMG_2974__640x480_.jpg]
[attachment=12981:IMG_2975__640x480_.jpg]
[attachment=12982:IMG_2984__640x480_.jpg]

the scavenger pump also got damaged...
