The main differance that I see is that the side pieces are cast and the ones we have now are tubing.

Yes all the filters are interchangeable on the quads.

There should be a ball between the left end of the clutch pushrod and the adjustment screw.

You can try filling it up and bleeding the air out. If that doesn't get it working then the piston may have blown out like C27 said, to check for that just pull the slave cylinder off and look at the piston.

You should be able to find it at any local hardware store. Make sure it is rated for high enough temperature though.
