Pull your filter and if it is paper cut out a section and squeeze it in a towel in a vise and see if there is any metal in there. If it packed with metal you may have lost the big end rod bearing. I wonder if this is one of those things where you have to set the date way back on your computer... and make it 2004 all over again! Easy to do and worth a try... I gather that the authorization codes expire at some point based on the computer date.
