Does anybody know where I can get a Quadtech Hood, and how much? It comes in Black Correct? I heard you have to modify your plastic to install it, what needs to be done & does it sacrifice the airfilter water tightness? Also what do you use to paint those things?
Thanks

Try ordering direct. http://www.quadtech-atv.com/
?
What are the hoods constructed of and how would they hold up to woods & dump riding? Granted I dont flip or roll because I'm pretty sure it would be crushed if that happened. I also want your guys opinions here, should I leave it Black, get it painted Yellow, or get it painted Silver? It would probably be best to get it painted with 2 coats and a clearcoat I would think.
Have fun trying to get in touch with quad tech direct. I tried for about two weeks straight, leaving half a dozen messages and still to this day have not received a return call from them.
I ended up ordering mine from JPMX out of Kentucky. They had one on the shelf. Their number is 270-622-5644. I think I paid right at 200.00 shipped.
It is made out of fiberglass with a substantial gel coat. I flipped mine in the sand two weeks ago without a fracture.
To help with the water issue, I bought an outerwear for a 400 airbox. (The ones that velcro in place of the lid) My wife cut it and resewed the velcro so it would fit to cover the snout hole in the fornt of the hood. Not water tight, but better.
I didn't paint the hood at all. It has a gloss black finish. So far very durable.
Here's a shot of my bike to give you an idea of what your looking into.
All the luck

hmm
Nice Quad. You say it has some sort of Gel-coat on it? Wouldnt painting it kinda ruin that Gel-coat and make it weaker?
Thanks, sorry for all the questions but I dont have very much money and I dont really want to waste it. I dont wreck too often, but with my luck I'll flip the first day I have it.
