Yea Thonas is into the LT discussion big time like some of the rest of us
Its a tough thing to figure out the first time you try as the dsignation LT has been used to describe many different set ups and designs. Then again its still confusing now.
I think his idea of using shock length instead of LT is a good one but doubt the MFg's will agree since it would mess up their advertizing.
A proper setup with 16.5" shocks will also travel 12" or very very close to. Long travel has no more wheel travel and if I've said it once it was a million times, it is a misnomer.
Thomez, then the problem must be that nobody makes a 16.5" front end that's setup properly, because there are none that I know of for the Dale that give 12" travel.
Jay, Jay, Jay .... I'm not upset about anything. I have stock Blaze shocks and 19" Elka quadrates - the only difference is that I understand the differences, strengths, and weaknesses of each setup. And I can bet you that those cheapo American Star A-arms with some Elka triple rates would have the same wheel travel you have with the 19" +1 Houser. The difference isn't travel but how you utilize the shock length.
