Injector Cleaner

#1 Post by KYmxracer52 »

Has anyone ran fuel injector cleaner in their Dales? I've been thinking about it, just to keep it all clean inside. Does anyone suppose it would hurt them? You can run in it automobile, why not quads?

Actually...why not just remove the injectors and clean them manually? I have done mine several times since I got it all together again. Only takes a few minutes to take them out. Then just hook 12 volts up to them and blow air through them. I even put them in a jewelry cleaner for a little bit. I have heard that the injector cleaners are not good on the seals and things and also can mess up you octane. Just hearsay though.

If you want to go one step further. Take them out and send them to R&S he will also flow test them too. Ultrasonically clean them and such. When he is done he gives you brand new rings too.

How much would that set me back?$?$

It does make sense to just take them out and manually clean them. Would be a harder task on a truck though. May just do that to ensure proper fuel flow.

I paid $50 total. He cleaned both injectors and replaced the gaskets.
