Dry rotted hoses

So background this is an 05 atk vr

I was changing my plug (to iridium) and also checking
down throttle body for leaky injector and I noticed
all the hoses mostly just breather hoses and the
coolant bleed hose are all dry rotted.

Now I realize that its actually a 2003 cannibal which sat forever.
But man didnt someone at ATK tear this thing down and rebuild it?
They had to have seen these hoses.

Question:
Should I be checking other hoses for dry rot too? Kind of a dumb question I know I probably should. I would expect that a new quad from anyone have nice new hoses on it. What a buncha slackers!!

I would check ALL of them. I have a set of black silicone vacuum lines if you are interested.

Make sure to also check the fuel lines.Common place for dryrot would be between fuel injectors,by quickdisconnects, fuel pressure reg and by fuel pump.A little extra time inpecting can save some headaches down the road.

If you have your motor out go ahead and replace all of the fuel and vacuum lines. You'll spend around $10-$15 at your local auto parts store. Deal with it when it easy to do. Especially the small piece between the injectors.

The hose that Cannondale used is so crappy grade that didn't last.

Vacuum lines???

Can we use something other than the black rubber for the vacuum lines.

A little color maybe. smile.gif

I have some reddish-orange color silicone tubing, same as the piece I included with your airbox mod, arriving to you this week. Larger diameters also avail, let me know what you think. wink.gif
