Looking to see if any one has had the problem with the motor surging untill it warms and thens smooths out.
My guess is that its too lean. or the injector offset is to low. I have the flow rate set at 2650 and the offset set at .8
The quad is a Speed running a Speed Map preloaded with the D&M kit. The exhaust is the toaster style.

Thanks

Yes.But instead of messing with offset and flowrate try adjusting coldstart fuel mass. That way your only adjusting fuel for when motor is cold.

I believe the Cold Start Fuel Mass is only when the motor is starting, not after it's running. ProCal manual defines it as:

"Amount of additional fuel introduced when the ECU senses the engine is turning." Range is from 0-99mg.

It sure makes a difference when its warming up also from what I have seen could possibly just be unburnt fuel from a overly rich cold start burning off though.Would be a shame to have it running good when warm only to adjust settings to start it when cold.

When motor is surging like that disconnect the coolant temp sensor and see what happens.

I will give that a try.
I also called someone else and asked them and they suggested that the stepper motor was sticking. I pulled it out and lubed it but it still is doing the same thing.
I will try the coolant sensor but I think it is working properly. When I monitor the motor on the laptop it displayes the temp increase and decrease on the screen.

Thanks for the suggestion

Sounds like your motor is stock? If so, how close are you to the factory settings on your quad?

Not Sure as I got it used and set the values by exhaust temp, smell and plug inspection.

And yes it is stock with the (I think) 432cc piston.

Tried unpluging the temp sensor. Cleaned the idle stepper motor and lubed it. Neither worked. I swapped a stepper motor from my blaze it semed to be working but by then the motor was hot. I will let you know.

Ok call me a dumb A**, Problem solved. OLD GAS!!!! Thanks for all your help and ideas though. I was told to check that when I talked to Dave and that was the first thing he mentioned. Hard headed I guess. Any way, Thanks again.
