Dude- That is hilarious! It sounds like my life to the "T"!!! If she's picking it up, we'll heatedly discuss how it won't be any problem to find it. She then convinces me that if I want it, I better call ahead and have it sitting at the counter! Yep, same story! And, I'm 17 yrs in and still learning! Or should we more appropriately call it "Being trained"?!

And the same on tools- 75% is metric! My carry box only has a 3/4 wrench in it!

Listen up.

here is how I do it. Write it down on a piece of paper for example..... 5/16" 12 point socket 1/4" drive.... tell her to hand it to the salesperson and if iyou can't find someone who understands the note...... just leave.

there is almost allways some gripeing but you always fall back on "I told you if you can't find someone who understands the note to just leave" and the cold shoulder (Hot attitude) don't last long. I almost always get the item I need and when I don't I just take it back which is no big deal because if I wouldn't have asked her to get it I would have had to go anyway.
