rear oil filter

rear oil filter

has anyone ever found anything in their rear oil filter? it is such a pain in the neck to service and i never find anything in it. is really important to clean it at every oil change?

rode the quad from march - july 03, pulled motor for stage 8, no depris or anything in rear inlet filter ( about 40 hours) rode from then until december ( about another 70-80 hours) pulled engine again for 450 and lots of stuff, crystal clean filter..

i'm never going to check that thing:o

I only check it when I have the tank/shock removed.

Only had one little piece of aluminum debris in the filter on the first (1 hour) oil change...........nothing since. Now I only check it every other oil change. Have never found anything in it, though.

i've found a few little pieces of metal in it but not near enough to make me check it every oil change
