Surgi-lube is a better more economical solution to KY (free to me). It is readily available at my workplace and if I have enough interest, I will begin distributing immedialtely! They come packaged in unit dose easy-to-open 1oz. foil packets!

I would not use WD-40 as a lube for throttle cables. It has a tendency to get sticky as it dries out. It does make a good cleaner for the cables. After cleaning if you use a silicon lubricant you will have better results.

Life can not breath back into a dead horse. once the inner cable lining gets worn it's only a matter of time before the cable wears and breaks.
