Round #2 New Mexico Desert Race

I just finished Round #2 of the New Mexico Desert Race. It was 4 laps of a 9 mile track. I left with the first group. When the flag dropped I went to start the motor and thought it was started and nothing. Tried again and took off. I was 2nd from last at the 1st corner. Everything was so dusty I had to back off. I was already getting tired from being so tense. Started to calm down and felt a lot better. This track had a lot of turns, whoops, and then you drop into an arroy for some technical riding. Finished 1st lap then the 2nd. Going into the 3rd, you started to see quads to the side having troubles. I past a couple guys and was also past. I came over a hill that had whoops all the way down then to a turn. I tried slowing down and hold on but ended up giving it gas and jamming my thumb because of the twist throttle. Man that hurt. Finished the 3rd lap and felt pretty good. Finishing the last lap was easy. Could have done at least 2 more. Ended up 15th out of 28. Not to bad since this is just my 2nd race ever. Bike ran perfect. I fill that I am getting a little quicker but need to learn to corner a lot harder.

Next one is on June 6th on my birthday in Cuba, NM. Hopefully I will do better.

Thanks alot Derno. I love to read yours and CDRookie's reports so I thought I would throw mine in even though I didn't bring home a 5' trophy.:mad: Maybe next round.

You will get onbe soon enough. Rook and I have more fun I think writing the reports than actually racing.
