Krash on the big a$$ step up at Taft

this step up was pretty cool.

We were hitting it in 4th pinned and not clearing it. Had a rough tranny at the bottom and you would actually bottom out into the face and scrub quite a bit of speed. The approach was pretty rough too.

One of our Pros caught a bad square edge at the top and destroyed his bike in the ensuing crash.

The couple times I was able to get 5th out of it I cleared over the top. Otherwise the landing was a bit short.

is that a step up or just an uphill jump....step up's have gaps in the middle don't they? unless im just not seeing the landing area.....

That picture is taken about 3/4 of the way up the hill.

heres a picture taken at the top, you can see the square egde hole running across the top the ate that pro rider on saturday. Nasty spot to stick the rear tires.

Not sure how you differentiate an uphill from a step up? this isnt an uphill table...

You roll them. That way you don't have to worry about landing on the square edge stuff. Geez, you would think a pro rider would have know to roll them.
