well pulled my clutch cover off today and found the issue. 10 fibers and 12 steels.. I had a steel wedged between my basket and pressure plate

If it makes you feel any better, I did exactly the same thing last month. I'd done a three hour practice since I rebuilt my engine and the bike performed without fault. Unloaded it off the trailer, parked it on the start line, fired it from a dead start, dropped the clutch, nothing. I spent a good hour trying to figure it out (2 hour race) before finding a few gears and loosing the lot again. I rebuilt the clutch pack in the bottom of a field, before I found that there were two pressure plates against the back of the basket!

I did seven laps in the hour I had to ride and bagged 4th place, the winner did 12. Should have won that.....
