I liked my YFZ because it fit me really well.I felt I could toss it around better than the Cannondale.Even though weight was about same it felt like it was 100lbs lighter.I am 5"8' and 140lbs.In late 05 when I bought it 06 model it was by far the fastest piped 450.At least mine was. Now what I didnt like was jetting. That thing was more finnicky with temperature than a 2stroke.Everyone says they cured their hesitation but every single one I have ridden still had a hesitation off idle.No big deal you just ride around it but it was there.Yamaha also made quite a few changes almost every year.By late 06 I think they got motor reliability pretty much in the ballpark.Suspension was also very improved. So if you do get one try for a 07 or newer.

You're exactly right about the "flickability" of the yamaha Steve. It suits a smaller person better than say the 450r. As far as the hesitation goes...I feel it in the 450r too. The Cannondale is so responsive, its going to be hard to match.
