The Big O is not a quad route because not only would it be really tight, but it actually goes down some old fire roads so you need a secretary of state liscense to ride them. I might try it next time I'm up there with my dual sport bike though

Sounds like we're meeting up Saturday around noon at the race. Address should be 11999 Sandborn Road, Portland, MI. Dad and I are going to Silver Lake in the morning. Hope to see you guys in the afternoon.

I just looked up Portland, MI and it is way out of the way. May rethink this. Not worth 200 mi and 3 hrs driving to run a harescramble when lots of trails are closer. But if everyone wants to do it I will be there.

up to you guys. We'll be hooking up at the trails later that afternoon anyway. It was basically on the way for Tim that's why I told him about it. ALSO: The event is free but they said to bring some food or beer.

The Ironman GNCC is the 24th and 25th. I had thought about racing it but I'm on the fence right now. I will definitely be there one way or another.

Change of plans, dad and I are headed in the direction of the dunes early tomorrow morning. We may ride the trails with Mike and Steve in the morning...

Rode the trails saturday and I have to say they are a BLAST! 50"quad can fit but very slowly. Stock width is perfect. Sand, leaves in full color, big whoops. It don't get any better! If you need to make time just hit the ORV trails they are 4th and 5th gear mini roads! Had a little crash that left me thankful to be alive on one and thankful my buddy wasn't killed either. Got knocked out for awhile so not really sure what happened but here is some pics. Subframe, caliper pin and exhaust on dale is shot along with subframe tabs. Looks like YFZ frame is totalled. Buddy broke his wrist pretty bad I am afraid. Speed hurts!We will ride again. Really like MI!
