It's getting close. He has some wierd moments still. But it's gotten tons better.

Last night when I was there he got to talk to Doug Gust on the phone. He was using my phone and I initiated the call. About an hour later [all excited] he said 'guess what?! I got to talk to Doug Gust tonight!!'. It took me a second, but then I just moved on. He asked LurkerBlaze and I about when we went to the casino. Except we have never been to the casinos together.

So it's a little flaky and his short term memory is still shot. I am hoping that will improve. Otherwise it could really play havoc later.

But over all he looks and seems great. It's amzing to think that it's been just a couple days shy of a month. And he still has a week or two in the rehab hospital to go!

hey everyone it's ME!, Phil, The most fortunate person to come along in a long time. I have to tell Ya'll I can't remember anything from the race except being at the starting gate and watching the pin move. The majority of my hospitalization also draws a blank. Some things seem vague, maybe they'll claer up. I never really realized at how much Lurkerbaze did for my wife,Kaori, and I. Thank You so much dude!!! also The Jaspman and his wife have been an incredible help to us. It has been said that the true character of a person can only be judged during times of high stress and extreme circumstances. I'm glad that I have people of good, solid ,and true character as friends. Thanks to you guys again!! And a thank you to eveyone for including me in your thoughts and prayers. I believe they also were a key part to my amazingly fast recovery!! My collarbone is still healing and sore but it might be only a month before I'm able to get back to work. after that I'll be reparing the predator and setting it up for cross country. i'm not gonna give up racing, just jumping. And even after reading this thread and jaspman's posts on my condition I strongly feel the no one else should give it up either!!!!

LurkerBlaze,

I had the pleasure to meet you at the group ride @ Jay's in May, and to say the least: You are one **** of a guy and I am glad I met you. You should take pride in the fact that you helped someone in their time of need and how you impacted their life. I read this post as it happened, and many times left with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat. It does make you take an inventory of yourself, and set your prioritys straight. When we meet again, I would like to buy you a beer or ? Jaspman, thank you for keeping us updated and your concerns for your friend were evident in your posts. You are one heck of a good friend, and I hope I meet you someday. Phil, welcome back. You are one lucky dude!!! Good luck on your recovery, and give your wife a big hug. Thanks again guys for another "happy ending".

One beer and Lurker would be stumbling around. tongue.gif

Phil, myself and our wives went to Earlywines track yesterday. Just to watch and help out at their opening day of practice. After we got home he donated his new shamorock rims and Kenda XCRs to my wifes Cdale. I tried to refuse in vain.

Jaspman,

Are you going to the Fall ride @ Majestic? If so, the same offer goes for you, (I'll just have to buy Lurker a light beer....LOL) J/K Lurker.

Yep. It looks like Lurker is driving and me and the wife are both going. So that's at least four Cdales right there. We may try and drag others along as well.

Light beer is a good idea. :w:
