Well this was my first trip there and it was awsome. I took my stock Cannondale and my YFZ450 I just finished. The Cannondale did pretty good on some of the races and the night riding was great.
I decided to Dyno my YFZ450 for the first time and I was very impressed on how well it did for a pump gas quad. It was 104 degrees in the dyno room Max Power 54.27hp@10100rpm, Max Torque 32.78@7800rpm, My air/fuel was at 12, a little rich. The kid that runs the dyno told me with a little tuning he could get another two more horse power out of it. With a 160lb rider it was kicking ***, there were a few big bore high compression 450r Honda's and YFZ450's that couldn't catch or beat my stock bore
YFZ450...... smile.gif

What do you have done to the YFZ?

06 crank, 06 cylinder head, flat top CP Piston (12.4:1 compression) Stock bore cylinder. I polished and ported the head, my machine shop buddy did the three angle valve job. Tapper bore 39mm FCR (41.5mm), FCI Intake and Rage ATV Racing custom intake and exhaust cams. That should be it....

OH, and a Ron Woods full exhaust and a GYTR CDI from Yamaha.

Don't waist your money, I forgot to add that I am running a GYTR cdi box from Yamaha. It set me back about $180.

Didnt they raise rev limit for 06 by 1000rpm?

Do you notice more vibration with 06 setup?Mine has had alot of vibration from day one.

I am not sure about the 1000rpm increase, but I never hit the rev limiter. As far as the vibration goes mine does not vibrate any more than the 04 or 05 models. Perhaps its the stock piston in the 06 model causing the problem.

Yes the woods pipe is an excellent drag race pipe. I just wished he made something like that for the Cannondale.
On several dyno's the woods made at least 3 to 4 more rwhp on the dyno compared to all others.

Dyno a Aaen pipe you will be impressed.Woods intake hinders power. But his DS650's are fast as heck for sure.
