If you guys may need to take a more southern path via Route 66 on the way out, you can overnight in Scottsdale at our family homestead there, say on the 27th? -- that's if getting all the way to Glamis on that night is too ambitious via I-15 Vegas.
Dave if you need a place to crash my door is open. I know McMinville is right at 800 miles from my house.

A bunch of us are in Boise too if you need a stop there.
We run 13/44 gearing on our quads in the sand. It makes wheelies in 4th easy, and all the hills are climbable no problem.

Hmm in Pismo I run 14/42 with a 21" hauler. I was thinking next time out to try 14/40.

Well you can count on me being there with cannondale27. Just bringing the yfz450 and the dale is staying home . Can't wait to go. Also what is good gearing for my 2006 YFZ with 21" 8 paddle tires, was thinking stock (14-38) should work?
I always ran 14-39 with my yfz. Same tire setup. I could pull 4th through dunes and stay on the power instead of having to downshift to 3rd in some spots. 5th is a tad bit shorter, but really not to noticable. You will get to 5th quicker and have a bit more torque to help with the power robbing effect sand has.
I do still have some yfz sprockets. Even a 15 front. I'll bring all the gearing I had for my yfz and you are welcome to it all. You can play around with it and see what you like.
