Killpecker Sand Dunes--Rock Springs, Wyoming

#1 Post by Killer_Shee »

These dunes are my playground, and I have been visiting them for the last few years fairly regularly. They aren't very well known, and I thought I would share some photos with everybody here. These pics were taken over the 4th of July weekend this year. I had a blast until my rod bearing went!!! I'm glad I took my KFX along so that I had a quad to get the 'Dale towed out of the dunes. My brother-in-law is riding the Banshee, and he usually rides Glamis. This was his first trip to Killpecker and he loved the dunes.

The large rock formation is a volcanic spire that is known as Boar's Tusk. It overlooks the western edge of the dunes at Killpecker. There is about 13, 000 acres of legal ridable dunes that encompass an area of about 8-9 miles by 4-5 miles.

been there, its way better than little sahaha, OK.
going back later this month early next month probably.
the only thing bad anybody has to say about this place is the real choppy 20 mile gravel road in.
