Nope, only 100 units.smile.gif

Ahh yeah, but they need to be on sale in dealerships in all 6 ama regions. I don't see that happening in time. I just spent the last 20 mins looking that part up. It does say only 100, but the other part is some of that rule too.

I thought that a letter of intent to deliver was all that was needed.Subject to ATVA approval which they got.

2. For a motorcycle/minicycle to be approved, the manufacturer
must apply to the AMA, register the machine??????????????????s specifications,
provide photographs and prove that 100 identical, completed
machines of the same model are available for sale to the general
public at multiple dealer showrooms throughout all six AMA
regions. Newly approved machines are required to have carburetor's
that meet the specifications of the minicycle class. i.e. Class
1-14mm; Class 2-19mm; Class 3-12mm; Class 4-13mm. AMA staff
will verify production requirements. Application forms for motorcycle/
minicycle approval are available from the AMA. Theapproval procedure for the following model year will open August
15th and must be completed no later than the following March 15th.
a. Manufacturers and distributors must have a sufficient quantity
of spare parts to meet customers demand for a minimum of the
current model year being approved. Any parts determined to be
inadequate in design or construction may be upgraded by the
OEM approval process as defined by the AMA staff and must be
submitted no later than June 15 of the model year. AMA may
require one unit of each approved model and/or upgraded part(s)
to be provided for long term parts comparison.

This was straight from their rules. I am sure they can make exceptions. As for the motorcycle/minibike thing it states in the atv rules that this is the same for ATVS. You can look it up.smile.gif

I know most of the Magazine Editors quite well (I won't mention who) and they will tell me off the record how good this Suzuki is.

I think they have already tested some. Usually they get these 2-3 months before the dealers do.

In many cases they are not the same as the Production Versions, however, Suzuki is a good company.

Typically the first year a new Bike or ATV has some (Warts) issues, however, year 2 and 3 the Warts are usually removed and are much better.

I'm personally interested in how good this really is, not what I read in the Comic Books, but how it really is.

frank,

i want to know what you guys are doing to keep up and compete with machines like the new suzuki. you have made mention of good things to come, but it's been quite a while since you took over the cdales and there have been improvements, but nothing to keep up the the pace the jap co.s are setting.

you need to enlighten us on your plans for a competitive ATK future.

I think if ATK offered the Base model with a different selection of tires (possibly a set-up with MX tires) and made the price comparable to the Suzuki it would sell. Or even if they put the same tires on the blaze, at 48" it isn't bad for the track, and with
MX tires on it it would be a good MX quad.
