When you say "redo", depending on the standards set at that time, that could be a good thing. If they weren't producing the numbers that they wanted, wouldn't they fail them and then go back and tweak something or fine tune something? I would want a quad that was thoroughly tested and checked for quality as opposed to a quad that passed loose standards. Am I making any sense? If I am, does that apply to these dyno runs?

Remember, they were able to adjust the flow & offset on the fly with their dyno set-up. Most were little petty things, like a strange noise or rattle. They were fairly strict with what they let out.

Interesting info.

Thanks for taking the time to compile it.

Any idea on FX400 numbers? Has anyone tried contacting Cannondale directly or finding someone that was involved in the motorsports division?

Where do you think this info came from? It was someone in the Motorsports division. 4stroke Madman I believe added the last set of lists, I'm not sure but I got them thru someone else. Since he designed the Cannondale quad from scratch does that count? I am not sure why there are no S500 lists floating around. I do have some serial numbers from the FX400 run...I have 238 confirmed serial numbers. It is pretty much all of them up to a certain date (I don't know how many were made after the last number). If anyone has an S500 computer equipped bike or quad please add your info to this thread or PM me.

Great work, Ken.
For your fine-tuning of the records, it would be helpful to split apart the converted MX400's (6aa11) and the X440s (6bc11's), as distinct from the VERY different model 2003 X440 (6cc11's).

The 2003 LE's appear to be unique with 6fd31, compared to 6bc31 for the 2003 plain silver and black models. If the members start reporting the numbers of their LE's, you could reconfirm that, and break them out separately in the count.... fun fun huh?

For the Glamis model, it's funny how there are 2 different VIN 000001's, and no VIN's for the Glamis go above 29 with so many ending-number duplicates.

So what this means is that my 5b6gd31g63b000025 is one of only 60 or 29?

I'm thinking it's one of 85 (corrected below), and 1 of 3 ending in 025. (corrected below)
....but still SPECIAL!

Actually Boomer it's one of 60, as the other listings are of duplicate numbers (one quad tested more than once). The good news is it went thru on the first time with no problems. Here is the list and the day they were "born" (dynoed before going out the door). If you ain't on this list you are just pretending.....

Boomer,

I do not see any 6fd11 serial numbers at all! The prefixes I have for Cannibals are:

5b6ab313
5b6bb313
5b6bd313
5b6bd31g
5b6fd313
5b6fd31g

I would love to break the numbers down even more. I am looking for a way to ID the check numbers in the middle.
