Is it possible to install a warning light to show when the engine gets to hot ?

If so, can anyone explain how to make it work ?

Thanks.

The circuitry already exists within every S-1000 Cannondale or ATK.
I can provide DIY kits, with pre-prepped Deutsch mainline, pigtailed LED's..... and just add to your existing order list.
Also, we have done up complete one-piece "plug-N-go" setups within new or custom keyplates. Member EasyE crimps up the Deutsch connectors with the proper tool, and preps the LED's.
The status lights are Very useful and rather cheap........ you get three diagnostic LED's, in a range from around $35 to $85. We consider them mandatory these days.

The flashing red, for example, has saved machines from disastrous over-heats -- no doubt about that.

For another form of flashing Red LED, and a digital temperature read-out, you can go with the TrailTech Vector Speedometer, or the Vapor Tachometer.
But even so, the Cannondale status lights should be installed first. Green for ECU on, Yellow for fault detection, flashing Red for high temp, and fast-red flash for critical high temp! That is good stuff, and the circuitry is just waiting to be tapped and displayed.

...more info is available via the Search feature here, and this subject is usually referred to as " status lights ".

I have installed and use two of these kits, they rock. Drill three holes into a Moto keyplate and yer pretty much done, the rest is plug and play along with a few splices (solder or terminal lug, your choice).

Now if only Dave could get a cheap map select going.... HINT HINT!

We have been working on it now and then!... but alas,... so slowly.
But let's keep the pressure on point-man guru EasyE here. Hopefully, he will show up at St.Anthony's with a virtual rolling " dynodale ". rolleyes.gif

When are you guys hitting up St. Anthony's? Any chance for Father's Day? Sorry, off topic...

So it is a plug in kit ? Does it connect to the connector near the ECU, where nothing else is connected into ?

What options are there for mounting the lights ?

Thanks.

Yep, you plug in directly at the ECU accessory connector.
Probably most convenient is a keyplate array for the lights,....... but anything goes.
We have 3mms, 5mms, 8mm lights in dull and superbrite, and various mounts chrome or plastic, and premounted or not... whatever. Here are just some ideas. Note, that the Green superbrite in the stock keyplate hole can blind the rider!, so some nail-polish or putting it in-line with the other two may be recommended, just depending on your Headstem angle,..... vertical or inline stem. It may help to send pictures of your machine.

Working on it...

Going with a group of guys over Fathers Day weekend - should be there Thursday. Also nagging Boomer on a daily basis to gather up the camping gear and go too!
