got it!

#1 Post by Coleridge »

Was changing my tranny oil to see how bad it was since I had lost my filter and never recovered it before the group ride. Well there were hardly any flakes on the new filter so it got me to wondering. I took a flashlight & looked in & could see it. Were it was at, at the group ride ????. I took a coat hanger and could move it around but never could get it out. After about 5 min I took a long straight screwdriver poked in there and bent it in the middle at about 45degree angle. Took the coat hanger and got it near the the hole & grabbed it with a pair of needdlenose. A slight twist and I had it.

Thought I'd post it in case anyone else needed it out. I heard a few people say it took like an hour & that they had to take the frame rail off. I had it out in 2 min after the flustrate screwdriver jab. Just a thought.

It took me about 2 hours of fishing, trying to get it out whole. Finally i pierced the filter with a needle file and pulled it right out. argh. that was like 30 oil changes ago. don't want THAT to happen again!
