no internal updates done, just a couple bottles of loctite to keep everything tight.

Chris, send me your address, I'll ship you out a stage 8 kit right away. Although there seems to be some mis-understanding with these updated crank bearings. If you have a new ATK crank, it is the same crank as an 02 crank, other than balanced. If this motor had stock crank bearings, then it has atk crank. If it had roller bearings, then it's winky crank. Which bearings does it have? I see you have already ordered roller bearings as well, but these will not fit a stock/or atk crank without some machine work. I would not reccomend the roller bearings over stock.

tha crank had 05/02 printed on it, the bearing that failed was on the stator side of the crank. the other bearing had a plastic center between the (needles or rollers). not sure which is stock or updated. the bearings i put in have round balls in them. i did not have to do any machining to get them on. there is no sign of the crank being balanced either.

Then you have a winky crank, and now we have our first case of ball bearing failure. How many hours are on this motor?

then the ball bearings will not fit your crank, on the stator side

Something weird here.I agree with Haydug the ballbearings will not fit on a stock crank. There is even a inner race from stock bearings pressed on and dia is to big.Got a part number for this ballbearing maybe its different than all the rest?
