The reason the bearing cage is rubbing on the rod is because the the gaps are to wide where it contacts the rollers. This allows the cage to sink to far into the rollers on the inside when the centrifical force forces the outward side of the cage to move right up and drag on the rod The z400 cage has much more surface area and tighter tolerances on the rollers. This keeps it centrally located where it should be.
The dale bearing was meant to be used in a stationary position with a shaft just rolling inside it. Like on a transmision mainshaft. Not in a reciprocating system.

Does the Z400 bearing have any numbers on it?
The only p/n that I have been able to dig up is
RN 35x43x22 BRG1
the G1 means the fit... they (person on the phone) told me that bearing supplier at http://www.bearingkinetics.com

I will check into the potential for any roller brg cage assemblies with drastically different capacities etc, but thats all we have unless a bearing mfg and their mfg part number are found.
