i prefer motard gears with my stroker.it is a 468.they enable me to run 15/39 gearing and still pull like a mofo in 5th.

Jason it will still pull like mad even with stock fifth and 15/39.Did it on road.Cant imagine going that fast on track.Tires will need to be balanced at those speeds.Gotta be 90mph:wow

Jason you hit the nail on the head! We installed the motard gears and made a world of diff! MX is a science and old 5th is to high. Korey loves the short between 4 and 5 now. He says he loses track of the gear he's in. If you ride up and down the ROAD you might not need to spend the money but if you race MX you will benefit by changing gears. I'm curios about the 15,39 sprockets? Jason do they pull better than 14,40? Tell me bro, I need some more torque.

do you have to drop the motor to change the 5th gear, or can you get the large side plate off with the tranny in there.

im not really sure if you would benifit from it or not kev.i think it depends on where your motor likes to hit.i have the 468 stroker and ran 14/39 gearing briefly and hated it.i had to shift alot and just didnt feel right.it actually pulls harder with the 15/39 gearing it seems to be right in the meat of my powerband.with my 450 i prefered the 14/39 gearing for more torque though.but on occassion i would run 15/40 on more of the bigger racks and it handled it pretty well.you are running the 460 right?i think you will pull the 15 no problem.snag a fifteen counter and see what she does.
