Cannondaleriders

Kind of, but 03 cranks have more trouble than 02's - If I was looking for one I'd try to find an early 02 as they seem to be the toughest out there. Also they have the earlier, stronger case.

Same engines, but '03's had some updates while the 02's did not. '02's had a greyish/bone colored side cover and the 03's had a metallic siver. Easiest way to tell what year the motor is.

Could you post some pics of the different engines, or give me a link? I have seen pics of both, but I couldn't tell the difference. Thanks a lot for all the help!:eek:

Dont rely on side covers to tell you anything. Both 02 motors and the 03 I just sold had black side covers. Seems cannondale just stuck whatever they had on them.

I think he is talking about this as the sidecover, not the clutch cover or anything like that. I have seen the difference in these, one being a bone color the other being a more silvery metallic color - but what it signifies I cannot attest to.

I think it is an 03 Speed - the only way you can really tell is to see them in person. The pics just don't show the difference that well but I have seen/noticed it before.
