Well if your fan never! runs, this could also be a problem. You never hear it run when you stop riding for a minute? It never runs right after you shut your quad off?
If it never runs you might be running a motorcycle hex code or have other electrical problems.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me, maybe others will have different advice.

My fan seems to be running everytime I stop... It's actually a bit annoying.
I run Mobil 10w40 motorcycle oil. Expensive but every autozone carries it.

Do you have a D&M kit? If so hook it up monitor the quad. When it hits 170-180 the fan should kick on. If it doesn't then you have a problem! I think the fan should run a little more than what you are posting!

I think somewhere in the same range. If it is just idling it should never crack 185!

I run redline in both of mine.
The old Speed the fan rarely ever comes on, the 03 Cannibal it seems to always be on.
I have a theory that the cast cases run cooler than the SSM, nothing to prove it yet though.
I am in the middle of swapping the 03 case to a cast case and we'll see if it runs any cooler. I never took temp readings though so won't get any hard facts.
