Interesting results - Have you checked your throttle adjustment on the 450R?

I have a feeling incorrectly adjusted throttles are going to be the source of a lot of chest beating on the forums..... (just like in the days of the 400EX).

no gabe, but thats a good point I had heard before but forgotten. I will check it when I get a chance.

I like the new honda alot.........I can't wait for some dry conditions so I can get a true feel for it.

If this was a common problem on the 400EX why wouldn't they have fixed it on the new R? You would think Honda would like to see them performing 100% out of the box....

That's awesome, Joe! Thanks for the report!! The Honda may get a little quicker once it's broken in, too. I'll have to get up that way in the spring for a ride, maybe you'll let me throw a leg over it!:hammer:

Also, if you know anyone looking for a clean, used stock C'dale, keep me in mind- mine's on the block!

It's not a problem, it's an item the dealer is supposed to check/adjust during PDI as well as something owners are supposed to check periodically, just like clutch adjustment, oil levels, etc...

On the assembly line, the adjuster for throttle cable is screwed all the way in, which leaves a bunch of slack in the throttle assembly. Honda quads from their sport models to their utility models are shipped this way.

The sad truth is many dealer's PDI consists of bolting the tires on the quad and sending it home with it's new owner. Even worse, some charge a couple hundred dollars for "Setup".....

Oh, I see - I was wondering what was up with it. That makes perfect sense ... dealer "setup" ... yikes.
