Don't be bummed out, you have a unique serial number no matter what. It's just that the person responsible for assigning VINs on the Glamis models must of been out to lunch. The first 8 digits identifies the make and model of your bike (Cannondale Glamis) the 10th digit is the year (3 for 2003 in this case), the numbers after the 10th digit are usually consecutively numbered from 1 to ? until the end of the run. The 9th number in the VIN is some sort of check digit, that I have not figured out yet. It could be a person assigned to a number, a shift, a day of the week, etc. Normally there would not be two number 14s, the idiot used the check digit to make the difference. I have not checked all the models but it defintely was done wrong on the Glamis models. The S440 (rarest bike, 52 made), only had one duplicate ending number.
