Right now there are only two rally good SLRs. The Canon 20D and the Nikon D70. But Canon is about to relase the 350D and Nikon is going to release the D200. Both are supposed to blow the market away. In price and product.

The new Canon DSLR starts at $900 but you can get a combo package for about $1k. That's a GREAT deal.

There were some nice helmet cams at show. They said you can use a digital camera to hook up to them using the video feature.

I looked at both the Cannon and Nikon and man they are both nice. The new Cannon is very nice too, but I had a run of bad luck prior with Cannon and have had several Nikons which still treat me well to this day so it wasn't much of a decision for me. I knew about the 2 new cameras just couldn't wait.

I have always used Nikons. I really like their stuff. But Canon appears to be light years ahead of Nikon in their focusing tech and color readings. One of the main reasons why I have not purchased is lack of making the final choice.

Steve, once you go to an SLR you will never go back. It's always nice to have a small one to carry around. I still use my Nikon 880 for that. But an SLR can do so much with so little effort these days.
