Yep thats your bearing cage. Kinda nice that even with al the damage to the head and cams the crank was still good. I'm doing a bunch of different powder coating colors so you should have some chioces when you come up for your engine class. Get any work done on the chassis?

I put the carrier you sold me with new bearings couple days ago. I bought new wheel bearings for front but don't think I need them. Hard to tell but ball joints look ok. Think I might need swingarm bearing and bushings but hope there is time to do it at your place. All in all just trying to clean everything up and also do a little polishing cus aluminum looks soo good shined up
I'm really geeked about comming out and doing some wrenching and learning! This will be a working vacation I can handle.

That shock wave hitting you in the face was priceless. I can't believe it didn't knock you off the stool you were sitting on. You didn't even flinch. You had the cams gears timed correctly but the guy you got them from put the cam gear on cam out of time. Who would have known unless you had been there before?
Actually, John, the reason that Kdeal didn't flinch is because he's reached the age where reactions are measured with a calendar - not a stopwatch. If you'd kept an eye on him, you would have seen him jump - about an hour later!
Of course... being older than kdeal... My son thinks I have nerves of steel. I never react when he tries to do things to startle me. What he doesn't see is me peeing myself six hours later.

he was not on the quad anymore at the moment of impact.
It happened during a hill climb. quad stalled at the top of the hill. Rider fell of and quad went tumbling down, and half way on the hill the quad landed on all 4 wheels and the engine fired up again. During the first part of the tumbling the handlebar broke and the throttle cable was pulled, so it was at full throttle. So the quad came full throttle 3rd gear down the hill and at the bottom it hit a three...
Talk about some bad luck (at least he wasnt hurt I guess - but ****)

I was watching this wondering where the accident was, and then it all goes horribly wrong. The first few rolls I thought were fairly un eventful, and then something comes off and starts flailing about, and by the time it comes to a stop it's a large piece of junk!
