I've always thought about running a bike stator. Do we really know how under powered the bike stator is?

It must be much less since its so small and less windings.

Maybe it's enough output, if you are not running headlights. I guess a dragster would not have them, and we pick up 75 watts from the non-use of headlights. The E440 3-phase stator does not run a fan, but it handles a 40watt headlight, and the tail bulb. Is that equal to the draw of a fan? Maybe you could still run the fan. I have no idea how many watts our ATV fan draws -- it's labeled VA36-A101-46A 12V by SPAL Italy. If anybody knows, or can measure the current draw, that would be some great info.

As for weights?, I have these handy from random parts here:
Fan with mountbolts = 15.7 ounce
ATV Stator 18 ounce
E440 Stator 14 ounce

Also, you could mate up the E440 stator with the 2002 E voltage regulator, for a few more ounces of weight shaving. That one has
compatible connectors to the ATV harness.

My bike isn't pure drag so it has to run in the dunes. It does sounds like the E440 would work.

cdsracer's wife's LE has been running with a bike stator for about a year in the dunes with no problem. She kills the battery at night so she has to watch that, but otherwise it runs the fan and charges her ES12BS battery just fine!

Sounds like in a few months I'll be looking for a E440 stator.

Which bike stator? Early one was totally enclosed in black plastic. That would be the lowest out put stator. It is crazy how many different stators and voltage regulators Cannondale used. Even in quads there were at least 3 different stators with different sized windings and coatings. Its all very confusing.

Its a normal looking one..... ??

Looks like class is back in LOL. Do anybody have pics of the different stators?

What we need to do is dyno a bike stator and see what the difference is with less magnetic force.
