Id get the cannibal and then use the difference in price from the speed to pick up things that the speed does not have anyway

steering stabilizer
upgrade the tires and wheels.
Full pipe

Thats a little more than the grand difference
But you get my point. The speed spends its money elsewhere, and while it's good stuff I would choose differently.

is it the same rim? I mean are the rims that youve had welded rings on the same type that came with the bike?

Mine are not in good shape, but I could probably pound them out close enough and then tig them myself.

Is it 20 bucks a wheel or 20 bucks a ring? do the fronts have inner and outer rings or is it just the rear?

Yeah, you'll have $120 in rings(4 rear 2 front), and then figure $30 to weld up the rears and $20 to weld up the fronts. So your real close to $200. For $200 more, you can have brand new racing rims. I had my stock tires welded up, and if I had to do it all over again, I'd just buy new rims. JMO...

How much heavier does the front feel now that you have the rings on?

Lap,

It's def. noticable. After an hour of XC racing, my arms pumped up pretty bad when I was running those rims. I've since switched to 400ex stock fronts, and it's alot better. I'm going to guess your adding close to 3/4 a pound to each wheel. Then when mudd gets caught in there...
