I did all this on a drill press. Looking at it now I thought about trying to go bigger on the holes between the tines/fingers. But it would be very hard for I'd be trying to drill half a hole. Half of it is thicker so.

Well I've spent more time with the drill press,and took a page out of Tims book, well Tims son I should say. LOL

I drilled 3/4" holes about 3/4" apart and I kinda think its a little too light for duneing, but drag racing I think its perfect. Time will tell. wink.gif

I bet it will be fine unless you roll it over. Even stock they can bend in that case. Dang you are good with that drill press!

I sure hope it holds up. The dunes are a 2 hour drive for me. The drill press is from HF I sure wish things where tighter on it tho it's really not that bad for the price. Yeah the drill press and a modified tube notcher from HF again and I got her done. I didn't weigh the stem so I couldn't tell you how much I cut off.

compatible connectors to the ATV harness.

I don't know what our fan draws. But just looking at some after market fans some 6" fans draw 4.amps to 6.30amps was the most I found. isn't ours a 5.5" fan so I'd say at the most 6.30 amps at 12.5 volts = 79watts. And the 4.0 amps at 12.5 volts = 50watts
If we have 13.7 volts the 6.30 amps turns into 86watts. Sounds like a E440 stator might be in order? Dave whats the price on a E440 stator?

For easier use on an ATV, you would want to use the 2002 E stator that already has the 3-wire flat connector. But, those stators cost plenty more than the ATV stators!.... Several dirtbike guys have switched from the E-stators to ATV- stators, to boost the lighting output. So, you can find take-offs to buy, or offer to trade. I have changed out plugs on the ATV stators, and shortened them as needed for different harnesses the dirtbikes have.
But in taking the E-stator to the ATV, the lead wire is still too short, so you also need the 2002 3-wire extension to reach our voltage regulator. When buying or trading for that, you need to ask for both parts.

That's a lot of holes in parts. I wonder how much weight has been saved and how much the final assembled weight will be compared to before hand.

I never did weigh the stem, But it did finally break on me but I did have a fare share of ride time on it. For a play bike its not worth it, for a drag bike its cheap to do and should last.
