Is 60HP possible?

#1 Post by wistech »

Ive been talking to last winters local ice racing champion and he believes that no Cannondale will EVER beat his crf powered quad. His quad dynoed 57hp on the same dyno that a 468 dale pulled 46hp. I think I know what would have to be done to get close to those numbers but I dont have the fundage and dont race. I would like to be part of the team to take on the chalange. I know we have some riders with the skills ,just need the quad.
Specs-
under 320 pounds
57 plus horse.

Any takers?

Thats what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to be a part of that. The 468 that you dynoed, is that one of Haydug's ultimate motors, or is it just a bore and stroke?? How much funding are you needing?? I really want to get that much power for my desert bike I'm building. I'm going to run that dale in the Best in the Desert series, maybe give Ol' Stoess a run for his money.wink.gif

well with atk machines are claimed to be 48hp so surely with the stroker(falicon or timbo) and the Je 450 piston, and a port and polish and hotter fx cams, and maybe bigger valves you prob could reach that without a problem. I think abbots dale had about 60 to the rear wheels and I dont think he was running a stroker crank in his TT quad I am not sure though.

stock for stock a cdale can beat a crf... so if the funding was there i wouldnt see why a cdale couldnt be modded enough to reach what that crf has. am i wrong?

Yesterday at NEATV, there is a guy running 40+ Open A with a fully customized KTM 520 that has been built to I think he said a 572 sad.gif

Too bad our very own CDMX215 had to race against this monster. He is running a 468 from Doug as well. At the line i said that thing must be pushing over 60hp.....he replied and said it is over 73hp  He said he can holeshot in 4th gear:p

Overkill IMO

Talks cheap. The problem with the KTM's is the gearing. They are Dirtbike motors put in a quad frame, so the gears are way toooo high. a couple of people race TT on 1 around here, not very impressive if you ask me.
