Ok......need Serious Help Here!

#1 Post by TucsonCannibal »

My quad is still not running right.... I have:

*changed all the fuel o-rings to Viton
*replaced all the vacuum lines except the one going into the ECU
*made sure all the connectors and fuel lines are hooked up right and snug
*checked all the grounds

But I did find the vacuum line at the fuel regulator broken.. replaced, and I found the red wire going to the fuel pump was cut half way through... which lead to blowing my fuse.

It will not idle good, and giving it any throttle, some black smoke puffs out of the exhaust. I did take it for a ride up the street and when I'm in the throttle over 1/4, it runs pretty good...

Could a piston ring be broken? The motor only has about 30 min total on it since the rebuild, cause it died on me. I checked the plug from the last time I rode it which was this past sunday, just a quick run up and down the street, and it was brown. I will check it again tonight from the run today..

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.. really want to ride this thing.

You may need to reload the hex code, I have heard of people having problems with that after a short on the fuel pump.

Also, check the coil, or swap it with a know good one.
