After having a week long conversation, this is the final answer.

JOE,
THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MAIER PRODUCTS. NO WE DON'T MAKE ANYTHING FOR THE CANNONDALE. IF YOU 500+ PEOPLE GET TOGETHER AND PAY TO HAVE THE MOLDS MADE(APPROX. $1500 EACH). YOU GUYS COULD RIDE ON WHATEVER COLOR BIKES YOU WANT.

Only way to sell 500 is if it looks like these.ATK has them.Call them about time they made something.

I agree w/ 27 Im not rich but would definitely go way out of my means to help get the 04 designs for our plastics made. Im just one person but Id be willing to bet you just might get close enough to the numbers they would be interested in if you pushed those plastics

How about making a complete new look, a much more agressive and streamlined look ? But not a YFZ/TRX look-a-like.

Probably take several thousand to get them away from ATK! Those were never in production- they're the 2004 prototypes from Cannondale. Another year and we would've all been looking like that. Oh well...

As for new plastic, I think you'd have a good shot at doing something if they'd commit to the new design. I'm shocked they're willing to do plastic at only $1500 for tooling. That's insanely cheap. I can't help but think the 04 tooling would be higher- there's more pieces. But I too would jump in that mix!

They didn't mean $1500 tota,l if they did I'd pay for it myself. They meant $1500x500. The cost of the steel alone on a mold that size is insane. $1500 wouldn't even come close to cover the tooling to cut the steel or even cover the design work. A small mold like our valve cover gaskets is a $10,000 mold. There are cheaper ways of doing it like making a fiberglass mold from the prototype 04, than a plastic injection mold.Sorry to say I highly doubt atk has the money to make a set of front plastic, heck they're not even paying to make new colors which people would buy of the old plastic where the molds even exist. I think the only way we're going to get a project like this to happen is to get some movie star or millionaire into Cannondales, anyone know one hopefully?
