Has anyone drilled out a axle ? I am building a mini quad for my son and want to keep it as light as I can. any suggestions ? Want to build a swingarm that uses a cannondale bearing carrier so I can use the brakes and whole set up.

Tim has drilled one out. If you are using full size parts and he is still real light you can get away with it with zero safety issues. I think Tim drilled his 1/2" all the way thru.

Or you could take the Kdeal route and have it made from ti

No, my wife would kill me! Tim didn't drill his out, he had someone with a lathe do it local to him. I say put Big John on it first and make him ride it around the track, so if it does break, it won't mess up anything that important! LOL
