Lowering Kits

#1 Post by Speed 1B »

Will a 400ex kit work?? The dura blue kit uses the top shock mount.

Yes it will work, however you need to shim it up to keep everything aligned. It will not work in the way that Durablue had designed, but you can do it. When I put mine back on tomorrow night, I will try and take some pictures and send them to you. If not tomorrow, remind me and I will take some this weekend and show you how I did it.

One thing that I should have mentioned earlier, is that it helps to have an air gun to make everything go faster. But not necessary.

Also, the installation is not pretty, but it works so I go with it. I will tell you how well it works after this weekend.

Take note.....

The lowering kit will only work on the front. The lowering strut for the rear of a 400ex will do you no good.

The only way that I have found to get the rear down is a different shock or different springs for the existing shock.
