i removed my air filter to clean, and found some type of relay under the air cleaner, then i found another part of it that is supposed to plug into that peice that is "bolted" too the tray, i didnt know what this relay was for, called a few dale owners and got and "i dont know" and a "thats the relay for the headlights, i think" well its not the head lights cuz with it unplugged they still worked, the quad still ran,
i get home from the shop, look it up in the handy dandy online owners manual (item 4 on page 124 under electrical, if you want to look)and it says that it is the ecu power relay, hmmmm
how can the quad run with that unplugged ????
anyone ?????

yes, i have the 1000, it is exactly like the manual, it is the relay that has a little bolt holding it to the tray, under the air filter, check page 124 in the manual

Ok this may be a real stretch here but there has to be something feeding power to that circuit.First place I would check is the Oxygen sensor wires. They are unused and if the wire which is used to heat O2 sensor (blue)touches the red one it would power up the whole system without relay. If in fact the wire is powered. It may be since Cannondale issued a bulletin called Engine Stalling O2 sensor that says it has power and tells you to put shrik tubing on and relocate the wire away from top of motor to prevent the protective end from falling off.It is just a pigtail with three wires in it.Hope this is it.

I agree with 27, after looking at the wiring schematic it appears to be the only way you could still be getting power. Look under the tank by the back of the head there should be a couple of wires in a loom that goes nowhere. The bulletin is SB02-012. I can email it if you need it.

It took me a while to expand and retract the image to make sure I was on the correct wire. My old man has a printer for Blue print size paper and he can do it in color! Do you want one?
