Hey guys,

Just decided to let everybody know that me and a friend crashed Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Me(on a Wolverine) and my friend(on a TRX250SX or something) were coming home from some drag races at about 12:30 or so. We were going down this road, and he was beside me and a little ahead of me. I don't know if he just didn't know I was there or what, but he swerved into me. I don't know exactly what happened, but my bike was upside down in the road and his was off to the side about 30 feet up the road. I jumped up quick and got my helmet off and kinda checked if I was alright, I didn't think I was hurt at all. I then ran over to my friend, who wasn't moving. His helmet had came off and was up near his quad, I checked to make sure he was breathing and he was, so I figured he was just unconcious. So I flipped over and pulled my bike off the road, shut off his, and called my parents. When they showed up my dad called 911 for an ambulence and everything as my mom kept trying to wake up my friend.

When the ambulence showed up they got him on a stretcher and were checking him out, cause they thought he may have had major head injuries. They then called for an airevac and flew him to the hospital, while this was going on 3 guys checked on me, 2 said that my parents could just take me in, but the 3rd said that they would take me in the ambulence(for what reason, I dont know) but they took me into the trauma center and checked me out there. I stayed there until about noon yesterday. I have a deep gash/hole in my arm, road rash on my side and shoulders, and my left eye is a little off(I see slanted out of it) and i'm gonna see a eye doctor for that.

My friend called from the hospital at about 12:30 and he's doing alright, just a broken collar bone, staples in his head, and road rash. He said that he should get out of the hospital tomorrow morning or afternoon.

We both dont have medical insurance, which REALLY sucks, I dont even want to know what their bill will be. But for the ambulence, IV's, for trauma to check for broken bones and head injuries and such, them to wrap up my arm, and 8 hours in bed, our bill is about $9,000 . So I guess we just pay it in payments, And I guess so will my friends family.

I guess i'll just ask for everybody to pray that there is nothing wrong with my friends head, even though they said there wasn't.

Thanks,
Chance Mayfield

It always sucks to wreck. It sounds like you are both going to be alright. That's great to hear! Get that eye checked out. It's important not to wait.

Your buddy won't be a on a quad for a little bit with that collar bone though. Was his helmet strapped? It's odd that it came off.

Glad to know you are alright.Only time I have seen a helmet twist or come off is when it was not strapped on.sad.gif

He either forgot to strap it, or the strap broke. I'm not sure. He'll definatly not forget now.

Bill's.... in time can be paid. Thank God that you are both okay and ABLE to ride again. Some people aren't that lucky.

^^^Yeah, my mom said the same thing,

Still.....that's a lot of money, not including my eye, they told me it might be a torn retina. But I have to see a specialist to know exactly what the problem is
