Attempt to ban ATV??????????????????s, dirt bikes and pocket bikes in Connecticut
- press release -

Connecticut ATV??????????????????ers have come under fire from three State Legislators.

Senator Finch from Bridgeport, 22 districts, wants to ban the sale and use of pocket bikes and ATV??????????????????s in the state.

Representative Ryan, district 139, wants to pass a law that would require universal registration for all ATV??????????????????s regardless of where they are operated.

Representative Chaplin wants to increase fees for registration, and yet the state still ignores a law passed in 1986 that requires the state to provide riding areas for ATV???????????????s!

Will never happen. too much profit to be made off these. ATV's account for 51% of the "motorcycle" category pusrhcased int he US.

Chapin has the best approach, raising more money and earmarking for more riding areas & development.

But the democrat politicians, of course, would rather just ban it completely!

They will keep trying, state-by-state if a ban prevails.

Not trying to pick a fight, but never say never.

I wasn't around, but there were some who said the same thing about booze.:deal:

We need to stand up and fight against this every time it comes up.

No offense taking at all, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I don't think it will happen, registering them, possibly, but the gov't will see registering them and all they will see is ($).($) and hear Chu-ching. way before they ban them all together

No doubt about that, NY has been registering them since '84 under the "promise" to build an ATV trail system.....collected the money, I have yet to see the State funded trail system.
