Ok so I don't know much about honda's, only that our bolt pattern is the same.

I have a set of 400ex rear rims mixed with what I know to be 300ex front rims which I am trying to sell local. I had a guy come look at the rims last night for his son's 300ex (extra set), and he measured the front rim bolt pattern and it was not the same as his son's 300ex bolt pattern.

What should be the bolt pattern for the front honda 300ex rims? This person mentioned that this is the second set of rims that did not match up.

I have always been under the impression that 400ex and 300ex wheels are exactly the same.

From everything that I have seen by doing a google search, they should be. Perhaps who ever owned the 300ex before, switched out the front spindles?? Who knows, just trying to see if they were indeed the same.

1987 250x quads had the same bolt pattern on the front as the rear of the cannondale. All front 250x and 300ex after 1988 will bolt on to a dale or 400ex.250r,z400,. Stock Honda offset will make the front of a Dale about one inch narrower.

If all of those wheels bolt onto your Cannondale hubs regardless of offset they will fit the 300ex. He has different hubs or no clue! The bolt pattern is the same on a stock 300ex. (4 on 144mm) Yamaha uses 4 on 156mm.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. I told the guy to measure the bolt pattern and let me know.

When he was at my house he asked if he could take the front end of the dale and mount to the 300ex.. I told him that I had no clue, he wanted the disc break setup.

Why would he want the disc brake set up? Are you sure he doesn't have a blaster? I'm almost positive that all 300exs had disc brakes. I guess the cannondale brakes would be better though. Weird.

I think you nailed it. This guy must have a Blaster or Warrior or something. Having owned a 300ex, I also know for a fact that it had disc brakes and 4/144 bolt pattern in the front.
