Good info Jinx.I know alot of the pro racers ran Lectrons back in day.Never really took a good look at them.I wonder why he ditched the Fuel Injection?

I noticed in that thread that they had put a little nitromethane in the tank. It would be HARD on an injector.

That and people still don't understand EFI. It amazes me how many people change late model EFI cars over to carbs.

There is a thread on atvriders about just such a conversion for a ltr . They claimed more power and better drivabilty yet when asked for dyno charts or any shred of evidence he came up with the excuse that posting dyno charts would be advertising when he is not a site sponser. So its OK to tell everyone its the greatest thing since sliced bread but sorry cant back up the claim. LOL Sounds like the Horsepower factory BS .

Maybe I should start a conversion for 'dales using a 1930s style Weber downdraft? laugh.gif

What I find is that a few tuners go back to carbs because they are intimidated by fuel injection and do not know how to tune it properly. Lectrons are one of the few avenues that make as much if not more power than FI. They are just a pain to work with like John mentioned in relation to size constraints and again a lot of people do not know how to tune them properly either and end up staying with Kehin / Mikuni carbs instead....

Hey John,

When I was tuning Banshees I got over 100 horses on the dyno with a 440 motor. How do I rank in your list? biggrin.gif

stock 432 ported head 57hp= .132hp/cc
907cc raptor 99hp= .109hp/cc
505 custom dale 65hp=.129hp/cc

If they get the efficiency up there to match a dale they will be at 119.7hp yikes

Top fuel Dragster 8,000hp
500ci = 8,195.0cc's
8,195cc's = .976205hp/cc
So if our 432cc was a top fueler motor we'd have 421.72hp and 495's would be 483.22hp. Now where talking.
Dragster 2300lbs = 3.47hp per pound.
Cdale 370lbs w/55hp = .148hp per pound. If I've done all my math right? Tim has a long ways to go,he better get started LOL

Pick up some nitromethane and shitloads of boost and give it a try! laugh.gif

Don't worry about spark plugs....Topfuelers only use them for the first half of the track anyway. lol

I'm sure the NGK's will do fine.
