I ventured off road on my gasgas 450 at the weekend for the first time. It handles like an absolute pig in the corners. It does have piles of torque and power, and that sixth gear could be useful, but it would need alot of time spent on those shocks to get it working right. To the point where I actually thought about trying it in a race......

Last night in anticipation of my first race of the year (!) I gave the old cannondale a blast round the garden. Compared to the gasgas it's at a rough guess, half the weight. The gasser weighs a ton, I'm going to have to look into what they compare like because it's simply a shock to realise the difference. There's no way I'm going to race the gasser unless I'm doing a road trial where i think it could be very good, as long as I get rid of the twist throttle!
